GREEN TRESS

Graphic, web, service, & industrial design for sustainable hair-product sampler

As part of my Masters of Engineering program, I engaged in an immersive year-long capstone project involving the entire product development cycle, from user research and persona development to problem identification, prototyping, and rigorous testing, ultimately leading to the successful launch of a new product and venture. Green Tress aims to make the natural-hair-product search easy by offering self-curated sample sets from small businesses.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, companies worldwide shifted towards single-use or disposable product variants. My partner, Devynn, and I connected through our shared passion for sustainability, determined to address the growing issue of packaging ending up in landfills. Our initial step to combat this problem involved focusing on a specific industry where both of us possessed substantial expertise: self-care and beauty products.

Website Prototype

I created the wireframes of the website using Figma, which can be viewed with this link:

I then built out a basic version of the site using Webflow, which can be found at this URL:

Branding

Central to our venture is a commitment to products crafted from natural ingredients, embodying a profound sustainability & eco-conscious ethos. This vision inspired my creative approach, where I employed organic shapes and adhered to a green and earthy color palette, amplifying Green Tress's unwavering dedication to these core values.
